I can turn it as high as 75 and it doesn't sound too loud. I am not sure if I have the setup the speakers right. I connected my USB player and it sounded a lot louder .

I just can't find any recessed speaker plates or attached mounting fasteners. I'm reading that they are heavier, which I like, but don't want to choose the wrong angled wall mounts. After reading posts in the forum, I have decided to go with discrete setup. I do own a HT-S9100 THX which is the "grandfather" of the 9400.
The only difference is the amplifier which is upgraded by Onkyo within each new generation. In the 9100, the amps was in a way similair to the Onkyo 606. I guess now they have something that, feature wise, is similar to a 608. Due to a policy of continuous product improvement, Onkyo reserves the right to change specifications and appearance without notice.
